American Wingshooting Lodge is a full-service upland game hunting operation near Platte, SD. Hunters have the opportunity to harvest pheasants in over 7,000 acres of beautiful private land. We hunt milo strips, corn strips, CRP, grass waterways, sloughs and shelterbelts. You're going to enjoy the open spaces while you hunt in the pheasant capital of the world, South Dakota, where over 1.8 million wild pheasants are harvested per year. We believe you won't find a better hunt in this price range.

Our Hunts – All Inclusive

• Fully guided hunts (guides do not carry guns)
• Well-trained dogs (labrador retrievers)

• Three home-cooked meals per day including a steak dinner the night you arrive and a hot breakfast the morning you leave
• Transportation to and from the Sioux Falls, Mitchell, or Platte airports. Platte offers a 3,100' lighted asphalt runway

• All ammunition
• Hunting license ($115 value)
• Bird cleaning, packaging, and freezing (shipping not included)
• Non-shooting guests $125 per day
• Our lodge accommodates up to 16 guests

Getting your limit
We guarantee the opportunity for a limit. Our guides do not carry guns, so we do not know the shooter's abilities to hit. 90% of our groups bag their limit. The limit in South Dakota is 3 rooster pheasants per gun per day.
Wild pheasants
Millions of wild pheasants live in the fields of South Dakota. By taking care of our land, we have no need to stock pheasants. American Wingshooting is no longer offering day hunts. We will be harvesting approximately the same number of birds as we have been in the past years.
Pheasant hot spots
American Wingshooting Lodge's location is consistently at the top of the state's brood count survey. If you're wondering where the most pheasants are, we believe they are right here.
Dogs
Hunting with our experienced dogs is part of our all inclusive hunting packages, but if you wish to bring your dogs that is completely acceptable. We also have kennels available at the lodge for your dogs to use.
Unguided hunts
It is more difficult to maintain safety and prevent hunting in surrounding private land if we do not provide guides. It is possible to drop you in a specific area and let you work your way toward our guides on your own.
Taking birds home
You can take birds home in a cooler, ship them, or donate them locally. We will help you find a safe way to get your birds home.
Blaze orange
We recommend that you wear a blaze orange hat or vest for the hunt. It is not illegal to hunt without blaze orange, but for the safety of all hunters we will wear this apparel. American Wingshooting Lodge has blaze orange clothing available if needed.

American Wingshooting Lodge asks that you contact us or send in a reservation form to obtain the dates you wish to hunt.

IMPORTANT RESERVATION NOTES
Groups of 8 or more the lodge exclusively. For smaller groups, we reserve the right to book 2 groups for the same time frame.
The first 9 days of the season, there is a minimum of 10 hunters per party to book a hunt (for 2008: Oct. 18-26th)
50% non-refundable deposit required to book a hunt

Rates
3 day, 4 night hunts: $1,895 per gun + 5% sales tax
2 day, 3 night hunts: $1,595 per gun + 5% sales tax
